LARRY HOLMES (1942-2022) “In The Lurch” Original Pastel on Rag Paper
This large, original pastel drawing on rag paper by American artist Larry Holmes (1942-2022) depicts a surrealist scene of a dog gazing down at a fish that has been strangely placed against a rich, marbled floor. Renowned for his realist painting and drawing work, Holmes served as a career academic at the University of Delaware, where he taught from 1973 to 2004. This original drawing is beautifully framed in wood, and has been signed and dated to 1987 by the artist along the bottom right hand corner of the canvas.
