This etching printed after an original by French artist Paul Adolphe Rajon (1843-1888) depicts a representation of Petruchio, a central character in William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew. Treated with magnanimous skill and attention to detail, this wonderful etching is printed on vellum, adding to this its antiqued appeal. Housed in a wooden frame, this reproduction etching has been signed illegibly by the unknown printmaker.
