Antique Ornate Lyre Wall Sconce with Crystal Dome
Traditional and delightfully ornate, this wall sconce has a very unusual composition. This early 1900s piece has a metal construction. The form of a lyre is suspended by a metal rope from a wall medallion with finial. Olive branches, tassels, and slivers of red glass decorate the piece. A crystal dome houses a single bulb, activated by a pull chain. This antique piece has been recently rewired and has a standard plug.

NICODEMUS Matte Finish Pottery Owl
Owl by Nicodemus Pottery has a matte milky white finish with bits of brick red pottery peeking through. Round yellow eyes, a black beak, and black talons complete this design.
About the Artist: Chester Nicodemus (1901-1990) was a Columbus, Ohio potter, sculptor, and teacher known for his small clay birds, as well as other wildlife, teapots and pitchers. His pieces are recognizable as being produced with variously colored translucent glazes, which enhanced the redness of the high iron content of Ohio clay to create a russet brown undertone.
Nicodemus earned a degree from Cleveland Art School and then went on to teach at Dayton Art School and Wittenberg college. In 1932, he became dean at the Columbus College of Art and Design and later taught at Ohio State University and served as president of the Columbus Art League. All of Nicodemus' molds and glazes were destroyed upon his death at his request.

Late 17th Century Dutch Burl and Ebonized Wardrobe
A truly breathtaking antique example, this late 17th century Dutch wardrobe is solidly constructed from wood, featuring both burled and ebonized trimmings for a luxurious look. The oversized crown molded top is “supported” by applied carved column capitols, with carved flourishes located within panels beneath. The trimmed panels have delightful dimensionality and geometry. Oversized bun feet complete the look of the exterior. The dual doors open to a sizable interior with three wooden shelves. An impressively antique lock adds discrete character. Two drawers along the bottom have brass ring pulls with floral escutcheons.
