Likely made in New England circa 1820-1840, this wood settee has a three-segment back with a vase-and-ring turned top rail above horizontal slats and vertical spindles. Two arms have scrolled handholds. Eight legs have turned details with stretchers throughout. Original stenciled dark green painted decorations of grape and vine throughout the olive yellow surface shows wear from age, but is impressive, considering.
