This traditional Ethiopian harp body of a masenqo features a leather skin stretched over a wooden frame and would typically be strung with a single string. Used as an instrument for accompaniment for azmaris or “singers”, the masenqo requires considerable virtuosity, as azmaris play the instrument while singing. A gorgeous cultural piece, this harp body is best suited for display purposes only.
Many other African art pieces are available, sold separately.
This harp body is amongst hundreds of pieces of décor that are available at our location in Grandview! Come in today and see the full collection.
