About the Artist:
Born January 18th, 1952 in southwestern Haiti, Jean Bruno Louisius had an interest in drawing, but made a living in carpentry. After moving to Port-au-Prince, Louisius developed an interest and discipline in painting. Initially painting landscapes, Louisius switched subject matter to Haitian daily life by 1982.

He went on to teach painting and drawing at Ohio Dominican University for 37 years before retiring as a professor with tenure.
