This original etching by late Pennsylvania-based artist Joanne Isaac depicts a blooming lily flower, likely a Lilium pensylvanicum, against a stark, inky black background. A beloved artist in her community of Quakertown, Pennsylvania, Isaac studied at both the Parsons School of Design and Yale University before beginning her printmaking process, now carried on by her daughter, Rachel, a worthy artist in her own right. Isaac would draw, etch, print, hand-color, and frame all of her own work, making each piece a unique, treasured find. Framed in black, this etching is titled, signed, and numbered 23/175 by the artist along the bottom of the print.
This etching is amongst hundreds of pieces of art that are available at our location in Grandview! Come in today and see the full collection.
