Bronze sculpture by Dutch artist Loet Vanderveen (1921-2015) depicts two majestic, wild horses galloping at full speed next to one another. Vanderveen’s childhood home was close to a zoo, where he developed a love for animals and safari fantasies. Originally studying fashion after serving in World War II, Vanvderveen began mastering Chinese glazing techniques and forms before moving to California to create his sophisticated animal sculptures. This rare, cast bronze artist proof exhibits a sleek dark patina that adds to its graceful forming and is signed and numbered 2/15 by the artist via etching on its underside.
This sculpture is amongst hundreds of pieces of art that are available at our location in Grandview! Come in today and see the full collection.
