SYLVAIN TREMBLAY Original Mixed Media on Canvas – Signed

$3,500.00

A large original mixed media artwork by Canadian artist Sylvain Tremblay. Beginning as a graphic designer and dedicating his life to painting in 2002, this original artwork titled Recountre dans la Cité, which translates to Encounter in the City, depicts an abstract scene of two figures nearly lost in the monochromatic color scheme. Tremblay’s use of texture and color provides a sense of intrigue of the open narrative this artwork inspires.

This mixed media is amongst hundreds of pieces of artwork that are available at our showroom in Grandview! Come in today and see the full collection.

ERTE “The Tango” Bronze Sculpture on Marble Base

$4,500.00
After a long and successful career as a graphic artist and fashion designer, Erté revived his talents as a sculptor to create bronzes in his signature style at 75 years old. “The Tango” features two tall and slender figures engaged in the titular dance. A blonde woman and dark haired man both are wearing red to embody the boldness of the dance. The duo has an oblong green marble base with mounted brass nameplate. About the Artist: Erté (1892-1990) was born Romain de Tirtoff in St. Petersburg, Russia to an admiral father amongst the social elite. He left Russia at 19 and head to Paris to begin his fashion career under the pseudonym Erté, a play on his initials. He designed costumed and designed fashions for renowned actresses and stage productions. In 1915, he began his 20 year partnership with Harper’s Bazaar which cemented his reputation as the Father of Art Deco. Original ZHAOMING WU Touching the Sky

$25,000.00 $18,000.00
Transcendent original painting by Chinese artist Zhaoming Wu titled “Touching the Sky” depicts a woman wrapped in billowing cloth seated next to a windowsill. Golden light envelops her as it pours in through the window. Gold frame adds to the masterful glow of this piece. About the Artist: Zhaoming Wu (1959-) grew up in Guangzhou City during the Chinese Cultural Revolution under Mao Zedong. When he was eight years old, schools closed under the repressive government. Wu filled his days with studying a book of traditional Chinese brush painting and copying comic books. Wu’s mother was a doctor and convinced one of her patients, a professor at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art, to begin his formal art training at age twelve. He worked in an advertising agency as a graphic artist until he applied for Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art, where he was one of 32 accepted out of over 2,000 applicants. One of 16 students of Western style oil painting, he studied landscapes and small villages. He participated in the National Art Exhibition and made waves when he did not create government propaganda, but rather painted a village wedding illuminated by candlelight. He received much media attention, leading to his art being recognized and shown at an international level. He became a professor at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art, a high honor, where he taught for seven years. He immigrated to the United States once the borders opened up, settling in California with his family and beginning his master's program at the Academy of Art College. He became an instructor of painting there, and continues to teach and work alongside his students at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. This painting is one of hundreds of pieces of art that are available at our location in Grandview! Come in today and see the full collection.
