Original oil on canvas painting by renowned Ohio artist Jeanne Isenhart (1920-2005) depicts a traditional still life set up of a blue and white tea seat with a matching floral vase laid out on a white sheet. Described as creating “refined primitive” oil paintings, she created over 600 works of art. Collections of her work include that of the Ohio State House and the Ohio Governor’s Mansion. Isenhart exhibited her work largely in the Midwest and in New York City. She died at 85 in 2005 at the age of 85 in Newark, Ohio.

Juris Kakis is a Lativian born contemporary artist. He immigrated to the United States with his painter mother and medical doctor father at age 11. His first year in America, he received an award for his art in his new home of New York City. He attempted to continue the generational legacy of doctors that the men in his family had perpetuated, but ended up pursuing his Masters of Fine Arts instead. He went on to teach painting and drawing at Ohio Dominican University for 37 years before retiring as a professor with tenure.
