Vintage Modernist fireplace tool set circa 1960 by Donald Deskey has great appeal with three tools on a slender stand. The three tools include a shovel, small broom, and unique tongs that could double as a poke. The tongs have splayed outer tines with a hooked inner tine, which can be easily articulated with a scissor-like motion by pulling the ring beneath the handle. The brass handles with patina are sleekly styled in a Modernist fashion.
