From the pioneer of computer generated art, a signed an original archival print on canvas by Columbus, Ohio artist Charles Csuri. Signed and numbered #1/5 on the reverse, this large scale print depicts Csuri's recognizable abstraction. Space Balls, circa 2010, is an exercise in deconstruction of form, using digital wireframes of soccer ball models is various states of abstracted disassembly. The way in which negative space is used, Csuri creates a natural form of movement using size to create artificial depth.
About the Artist:
The father of computer generated art, Charles "Chuck" Csuri, is a decorated veteran both honored by the Football Hall of Fame and institutions such as MoMA. The early life of this Columbus, Ohio artist saw him as the captain of The Ohio State University's first national championship, served in WWII earning a Bronze Star, and later became faculty of The Ohio State University's art department after earning his master's degree. Since building his first computer in 1964, Csuri's legacy and impact remains relevant in contemporary art.
