Rare Antique Salesman Sample Bar

A rare, early 1900s antique, this sample bar was used by a traveling salesman to sell full-sized versions around the country. Complete with a brass root rail, metal lined inserts for ice storage or cooling, and electric serving a single bulb and outlet, this little bar is full of nifty features! The wood construction is well finished throughout. The mirrored back is framed by columns. A simple switch above the power outlet activates the light. Beneath the beveled mirror are two cabinets with dual doors, missing knobs. The bar top lifts for easy access to the three insulated compartments. #7 Chamberstick circa 1905 was crafted from bronze by metalworker Jessie Preston.  Jessie Preston was a woman metalsmith and designer in Chicago 1900-1918. Rare find as she had a limited production.  Jessie Preston was one of the first female graduates of the School of the Art Institute’s decorative design focus, quickly gaining recognition for her jewelry and metalsmithing. Signed with Anderson Foundry mark, Chicago 1905.
