Vintage triple dresser and mirror by John Widdicomb circa the 1980s has a flat, dark grey exterior with a subtle, dark patterning. Polished gold wraps around the plinth base and accents the nine spacious drawers with recessed handle pulls. Original oil on canvas titled “Magonies II” by Juris Kakis circa 1981 has abstracted, floral patternings on a solid navy blue background. Tones of red, orange, purple, and blue create a cascading composition. About the Artist: Juris Kakis is a Lativian born contemporary artist. He immigrated to the United States with his painter mother and medical doctor father at age 11. His first year in America, he received an award for his art in his new home of New York City. He attempted to continue the generational legacy of doctors that the men in his family had perpetuated, but ended up pursuing his Masters of Fine Arts instead. He went on to teach painting and drawing at Ohio Dominican University for 37 years before retiring as a professor with tenure.
