Antique JULES CHÉRET Original L’Andalousie au Temps des Maures Poster

SOLD
Original poster dated to 1899 by Jules Chéret was created for the Spanish pavilion at the 1900 World’s Fair in Paris as part of an exhibit of Andalusian art from the time of the Moorish occupation of the Iberian peninsula. Chéret’s depiction of a winsome Spanish dancer opts against the more historically-based imagery that would have been more commonplace in the exhibition. Housed in a simple, modern black frame, this poster features a lovely patina to the paper to complete its nostalgic charm. This poster is amongst hundreds of pieces of art that are available at our location in Grandview! Come in today and see the full collection.
