A pair of art glass lamps fabricated with a pulled feather technique by Durand Art Glass of Vineland, New Jersey. Made between 1924 and 1931, Durand is often prized by collectors for its beauty and styling. Consisting of an iridescent gold base hue, colored canes of glass have been wound around the body while still molten, creating an eclectic design on already stunning pieces of art. These lamps are mounted on brass bases that feature floral accents and have been rewired to restore their original luminance.

Each panel was custom crafted by Franklin Art Glass of German Village, and offered a two storey wall of illuminating glass without impeding the view. Glass vase by Columbus, Ohio artist Robert Eickholt circa 1983 has a round shape with a tapering body and a flat, narrow mouth. A unique iridescent glaze has a crackle finish for a distinctive look.  About the Artist: Robert Eickholt is a glass artist who has over 40 years of experience in blown glass. Eickholt founded Eickholt Glass in Columbus, Ohio after returning from studying glassblowing in Berkley, California. THOMAS BUECHNER Hand Blown Glass Vase

Hand blown glass vase by Thomas Buechner has a delicate, slender form with a narrow mouth and tapering teal-blue glass body. Clear glass “wings” decorate the shoulders, tapering down to the round, clear foot. Signed on base, dated 1988. About the Artist: Thomas Buechner (1926-2010) was born in Bronxville, New York, and started his art education studying at the Art Students League of New York while working as a night elevator operator at the Plaza Hotel. He then went abroad to study at Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He returned to New York after focusing on his painting, taking a position as an assistant manager at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In 1951 he became the founding director of the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York, creating a space to celebrate historic and modern glass works. He would become a crucial part of the glassmaking community through his contributions with the Corning Museum. In 1960, he became one of the youngest museum directors in the country by taking the position at the Brooklyn Museum at 33. He would return back to Corning Glass in 1971 as the president of their Steuben Glass division from 1973-1982, and the head of the Glass Museum from 1973-1980.
