An original landscape on canvas from Swedish artist Josefina Holmlund. Circa 1900, this painting represents some of the final years of her craft, in which she dedicated her life and work to the genre of landscape painting. Set at dusk, this painting of a meadow uses exceptional compositional balance, using diagonal separation of space, something often incorporated into her Nordic landscapes that featured bodies of water. An expertly crafted painting, Holmlund's use color works alongside the compositional formation, allowing the eye to travel in a zig-zag pattern, using blue hues opposite of each in their respective corner. #7 Chamberstick circa 1905 was crafted from bronze by metalworker Jessie Preston.  Jessie Preston was a woman metalsmith and designer in Chicago 1900-1918. Rare find as she had a limited production.  Jessie Preston was one of the first female graduates of the School of the Art Institute’s decorative design focus, quickly gaining recognition for her jewelry and metalsmithing. Signed with Anderson Foundry mark, Chicago 1905.
