Double Faced Paintings in the Manner of Chaim Soutine

Unique framed artwork features two paintings back to back in the manner of early 20th century Belarusian painter Chaim Soutine. Soutine’s work and popularity exploded after World War II and was subject to frequent forgeries and copies, this double faced painting being an example as indicated by the misspelled “Souitine” signature. On one side of the framed canvas, this forger has depicted a watchtower utilizing technique reminiscent of Soutine’s lively brushstrokes.
