About the Artist:
Kathy Bates is an Ohio-based practicing veterinarian who took up painting as a passion project at 42 years old. Having received no formal training, Bates’s work is instead conjured from an appreciation for capturing ethereal and airy moments of light. Her masterful usage of bold color and soft textures allude to a contemporary and impressionistic styling, one that remains collected by both seasoned artists and amateur gallerists alike.
