This lithograph by Moroccan-born Israeli artist and graphic Amram Ebgi (1939-) depicts a rendering of the Biblical parable of Jonah, with the titular character looking out at the viewer from the belly of a large, ornately drawn fish. Ebgi’s work takes, on average, roughly two months to produce, with some images being so heavily layered that they accrue up to 60 separate elements or pieces. Housed in a simple, contemporary black frame, this print is signed, titled, and numbered 137/500 by the artist along the bottom of the print.
