Antique Concert Roller Organ Music Box

SOLD

This antique music box has “Concert Roller Organ” emblazoned on the top. A nearly identical example is a part of the collection of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History! This roller organ is a 20-note model, having 20 silver tab “reeds” within the hinged glass front cover. The hand crank moves the vacuum bellows within as the metal pinned wooden cylinder, known as the “cob”, turns. The pins cause the reeds to lift and release the musical note. Playing as you crank, you control the tempo! Paper instructions are affixed to the solid wood top door. Includes additional rollers.

This roller organ is amongst hundreds of antiques that are available at our showroom in Grandview! Come in today and see the full collection.
