- Patina and wear from age and use gives this piece a historic and rustic look
- Details of provenance provided by consignor:
- This workbench was the consignor’s father’s prized possession, who received from his father who purchased it in Boone, Iowa
- Family immigrated from Sweden through Chicago in 1878, settling amongst many other Scandinavians in Boone, Iowa
- Bench has early elements of the Stebbins Hardware Company of Chicago, which may have been its origin
- Wooden screws indicate it was made around 1850 or earlier
