ASELINE QWABE Zulu Beer Pot

SOLD

Crafted by Zulu potter Aseline Qwabe, this traditional beer or utshwala pot is crafted with a bulbous body finished in an earthy black and includes a woven lid that crowns this cultural find. This pot, detailed with geometric motifs along the body and letter stitching on the lid, would primarily be used within Zulu religious customs: the association of domestic hospitality and social harmony with utshwala providing an important means of commemorating the ancestors of the Zulu people.

This beer pot is amongst hundreds of pieces of décor that are available at our location in Grandview! Come in today and see the full collection.
