Titled, “Oh La Liberté!” or “Oh, Freedom!”, this hand colored lithograph by French artist and cartoonist Boris O’Klein (1893-1985) depicts a humorous scene of a vested, leashed poodle anxiously looking at two dogs that freely roam in the background. O’Klein, an anthropomorphic artist, was well known for his numerous prints and watercolors of dogs getting up to mischief, comprising a series titled, “The Dirty Dogs of Paris”. This lithograph is matted and housed in a whitewashed frame and has been signed and titled by the artist along the bottom of the print.
