CASEY MCGLYNN “This is Why Going Where We’re Going Takes So Long” Original Mixed Media on Canvas

$1,495.00

An avid drawer from childhood, McGlynn regularly incorporates animals into his work, using the various creatures of his pictorial vocabulary to create symbolic works of art that allow delight even on the barest of surface levels. This original painting is mounted in a floating wood frame and is signed, titled, and dated from 2007/2008 by the artist en verso.

This painting is amongst hundreds of pieces of art that are available at our location in Grandview! Come in today and see the full collection.

CAROLE PRYHAESKA “Three Graces” Original Mixed Media on Panel

$1,295.00
Original mixed media painting by New Mexico-based artist Carole Pryharska depicts figural collaged forms against an abstracted and ethereal background of gold and blue. Modeled after the Greek mythology of the Three Graces, Pryharska’s work leans towards an image that is not fully representational, instead allowing the painting to become just abstract enough to let the viewer’s mind freely wander. Mounted on panel with a painted border, this smaller painting is signed and titled by Pryharska on the reverse side of the canvas. ROBERT MARTIN(1918-1998) Primitive Handcrafted Barn Wood Cut-Out of Jester

$395.00
Made by Ohio artist Robert Martin (1918-1998) from rustic barn wood, this primitive cut-out creates a lively jester.  Hand painted details of red, yellow, orange, green, red, blue, and purple decorate the rustic wood while still highlighting the material with artistic tact. Similar pieces by artist available, sold separately.  About the Artist: Robert Martin (1918-1998) was born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised by his grandmother. His grandmother, having grown up in the Victorian Era, is responsible for the period's influence on his early works. Martin studied the painting from books of the masters, old and new. He worked from life, enjoying the process and interaction that was created. In the 1980s, he began working from photographs with his series of Victorian Village scenes. An ever-learning student, his work has distinctly different decades reflecting his progress and interests. Persisting was his use of oil on canvas, despite his training in other mediums. His poetic soul was evident in his philosophy as an artist.  This piece is amongst hundreds of pieces of art that are available at our showroom in Grandview! PETER MAX (1937-) “Better World Collage” Acrylic on Lithograph

SOLD
Original mixed media collage by renowned German-American Pop artist Peter Max (1937-) depicts a colorful rendering of a sunset bordered by abstract forms and gestural brushstrokes. Max’s signature psychedelic style has remained popular with collectors since he first began exhibiting in the early 1960’s. Crafted from painted acrylic on lithograph and framed in gold, this piece of fine art is signed by Max on the lower right hand side of the print. About the Artist: Peter Max Finkelstein was born on October 19, 1937 in Berlin, Germany. The son of German Jews, Max’s family fled Berlin a year after his birth and settled in Shanghai, China, where they lived for the next ten years. From there, his family moved to Israel and eventually westward, stopping in Paris for several months: an experience that Max would later credit to fostering his appreciation for art. Finally settling in Brooklyn, New York, Max began formal art training at the Art Students League of New York, eventually setting up a studio with his friend Tom Daly in 1962. Beginning work in advertising, Max’s usage in counter culture and psychedelic imagery quickly gained popularity, leading him to an appearance on The Tonight Show and designing cover art for Life Magazine. By 1974, Max was commissioned by the United State Postal Service to design a stamp commemorating the Expo ‘74 World’s Fair in Spokane, Washington, followed by the book, “Peter Max Paints America”, a commemoration of the United States Bicentennial. Along with many other pop culture projects and commissions, Max operated galleries throughout the world that sold his work and commercialized products. A modern icon of the Pop Art movement, Max currently resides in New York with his two adult children; his work continuing to remain popular with collectors and galleries alike. This collage is amongst hundreds of pieces of art that are available at our location in Grandview! Come in today and see the full collection.
