Limited edition lithograph from noted Italian-American artist Dario Campanile (1948-) titled, “The Offering” depicts a nude female figure at rest as a large tiger approaches her. She is draped in a pink fabric and a small kitten nestles between her and the paw of the great tiger. The scene takes inspiration from surrealist imagery, placed in a stunning landscape of greenery and a waterfall in the background. The figures float on a thin platform, giving this piece a dreamlike feel. Campanile’s work often ranges from the representational to the abstract. He is noteworthy as the artist who created Paramount Pictures’ 75th anniversary logo utilized in most films and publications by the studio in the 1980’s. Framed in green and gold and signed and numbered by the artist at the bottom of the print.
