Limited edition print by French artist Emile Bellet (1941-) depicts a seated female figure in a red dress, reading a book against fields of black, orange, and yellow. A self-taught artist, Bellet models himself after the Fauvist or “wild beast” movement of art popularized by Henri Matisse, as evidenced by his usage of non-authentic, vivid color. Framed in a gold, this limited edition print is signed and numbered 46/450 by the artist along the bottom of the paper.
