Ethiopian Begena Harp
SOLD
This traditional Ethiopian begena harp features ten strings over a wood frame and leather skin with decorative lion carvings perched at the top of the lyre. Primarily used as an instrument for meditation and prayer, the begena was seen as a sacred instrument that praised God, in contrast to the similar Krar, which was viewed as an instrument of the Devil, and therefore inferior. A gorgeous cultural piece, this harp is best suited for display purposes only.
Many other African art pieces are available, sold separately.
This harp is amongst hundreds of pieces of décor that are available at our location in Grandview! Come in today and see the full collection.
