Original mixed media art by Columbus-born artist Harriet Dunn Campbell (1973-1959) depicts a party scene rendered in an expressionistic manner, the titular Balloon Man just slightly off-center, perfecting his craft. A charter member of the Ohio Watercolor Society as well as the Ohio Art League, Campbell’s successful work as an artist and art teacher leaves her an artist that is still highly collected in the central Ohio art community nearly 70 years after her passing. Housed in an aged wood frame, this original mixed media is signed by Campbell in the lower left hand corner of the paper.

Original oil on canvas painting by renowned Ohio artist Jeanne Isenhart (1920-2005) depicts a scene of a street market in springtime. Unlike many of Isenhart’s pieces, this scene is a closer look at one of the towns she created during her painting career. Perusers stroll about a brick street near the center of town while flower vendors attract customers with their bright stock of florals. Framed in gold and signed by the artist in the lower right corner of the painting.
About the Artist:
Jeanne Isenhart (1920-2005) was born in Gloversville, New York and studied at the Rhode Island School of Art and Design before serving in the Navy during World War II. Isenhart spent a large portion of her adult career as an interior designer before turning to painting at the age of 60. Described as creating “refined primitive” oil paintings, she created over 600 works of art. Collections of her work include that of the Ohio State House and the Ohio Governor’s Mansion. Isenhart exhibited her work largely in the Midwest and in New York City. She died at 85 in 2005 at the age of 85 in Newark, Ohio.

Robert Martin (1918-1998) was born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised by his grandmother. His grandmother, having grown up in the Victorian Era, is responsible for the period's influence on his early works. Martin studied the painting from books of the masters, old and new. He worked from life, enjoying the process and interaction that was created. In the 1980s, he began working from photographs with his series of Victorian Village scenes. An ever-learning student, his work has distinctly different decades reflecting his progress and interests. Persisting was his use of oil on canvas, despite his training in other mediums. His poetic soul was evident in his philosophy as an artist.
