JOHNNY FRIEDLAEANDER (1912-1992) Original Abstract Lithograph

This lithograph by Polish-born artist Johnny Friedlaeander (1912-1992) depicts a heavily abstracted landscape in earthy tones of green and yellow, sparse primary tones occupying the center of the composition. Regarded as a leading 20th century artist, Friedlaeander began making work that was heavily influenced by Surrealism and Expressionism before fully embracing abstraction as shown in this print, rejecting the gestural abandon of the Expressionist movement. Framed in black, this lithograph is signed in plate by the artist in the lower right hand corner of the paper.
