JURIS KAKIS “Palomino” Original Oil on Canvas

Original oil on canvas painting by Latvian-American painter Juris Kakis depicts the linework portrait of a horse against a background of undulating colors. About the Artist:
Juris Kakis is a Lativian born contemporary artist. He immigrated to the United States with his painter mother and medical doctor father at age 11. His first year in America, he received an award for his art in his new home of New York City. He attempted to continue the generational legacy of doctors that the men in his family had perpetuated, but ended up pursuing his Masters of Fine Arts instead. He went on to teach painting and drawing at Ohio Dominican University for 37 years before retiring as a professor with tenure.
