This original oil pastel and acrylic drawing on board by American artist Leslie Cope (1913-2002) depicts a trio of horses grazing next to a nearby stream. An artist whose subject matter actively revolved around the depiction of rural labor and landscapes in Ohio, New Mexico, and England, Cope used a variety of mediums to produce his meticulously crafted, bucolic scenes ranging from drawing and watercolor to oil and acrylic painting. This fine drawing is framed in gold and is signed and dated to 1986 by the artist in the lower right hand corner of the board.
