About the Artist: 

Leslie Cope (1913-2002) was born in England, moving with his family to America in 1931.  Growing up in rural Ohio, he took interest in the farmlands and villagers.  Influenced by realist and impressionist style, Cope utilizes watercolors and oils to create charming rural scenes.  Today, Cope’s works are in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C., and the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, among others.
