Original mixed media art by Ohio-based artist Mary Merrill (1920-1992) titled, “The Ohio Dancers” depicts dancing figures in red and black, single file across a white background. An outsider artist who began making work later in life due to struggling with agoraphobia, Merrill used anything she had at hand to work with, including “chewing gum, make up, jewelry, and coal nuggets.”, according to art historians. Framed in gold, signed and titled by the artist at the bottom lower left of the drawing.
This mixed media is amongst hundreds of pieces of art that are available at our location in Grandview! Come in today and see the full collection.
