This traditional wedding vase from Santa Clara Pueblo potter Nicolasa Naranjo (1907-2002) is dated to the 1980s and offers a reverent piece of cultural décor to add to the home. A vessel still used in traditional Native American wedding ceremonies, each spout on this wedding vase represents the bride and groom to be wed, with the looped handle symbolizing the unity achieved through marriage. A true collectible, this prototypical piece by Naranjo, who was known for her larger pottery painted in a classic black-on-black style, has been signed on its underside by the artist.
