Rare Machine Age Lamp Attributed to GILBERT ROHDE
SOLD
Rare machine age lamp attributed to American designer Gilbert Rohde (1894-1944) exhibits a delightfully modern aesthetic. Considered a designer who helped define American Modernism from the late 1920s through World War II, Rohde’s work includes rounded, sleek designs as seen on this lamp. The brass bass has started to wear through the maroon paint, allowing for a worn in aesthetic while a circular bulb is shaded by a flat, domed lamp shade. In working condition, the electrical cord has been replaced and adhesive tape has been added to the bulb to offset the fragility of the clamps that has accrued over time.
This lamp is amongst hundreds of pieces of lighting that are available at our location in Grandview! Come in today and see the full collection.
