S. JEROME UHL (1841-1916) Antique Oil Portrait of a Man – Signed

Antique original oil painting by American artist Silas Jerome Uhl (1841-1916) depicts an Edwardian portrait of a man clothed in formal attire with bowtie. Dated to September of 1899, this painting was the first sitting for a later portrait that was likely painted by Uhl as a gift to family members. Eloquently painted, this original portrait is housed in a gold frame and signed with palette knife scratching by Uhl in the upper left hand corner of the painting.
