This large oil on canvas painting boasts a fairly reproduced painting of Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s 1874 masterpiece “Le Loge”. The painting depicts a young couple in a box at the Paris Theater, when going to the theater was as much about being seen as it was watching the performance. The woman makes her presence known, while her companion scans the audience through opera glasses. Housed in an antiqued gold frame, this magnanimous reproduction painting is signed “Raymond” by the unknown artist in the bottom right corner of the canvas.
