This limited edition photographic print by American photographer Thomas D. Mangelsen (1946-) captures a lone polar bear strolling across the frozen, arctic tundra as gentle rays of sunlight begin to imbue a haunting gradient morning upon the image. A recipient of the Ansel Adams Award for Conservation Photography and many other accolades, Mangelsen has traversed the globe for his photographs, but remains firmly cemented in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, where he has lived for over 40 years. Mangelsen’s photographs are free from digital manipulation, often to the point where they are mistaken for paintings. Matted in white and housed in a metallic silver frame, this limited edition print is signed and numbered 61/500 by the artist along the bottom of the photo.
Other works by Mangelsen available, sold separately.
