Vintage etching by Romanian artist Alexandra de Hadeln-Balaceano (1911-1977) is dated to 1949 and depicts the Tuileries Garden of Paris in a post-impressionist style. After World War II, Balanceano began a company in France that sold reproductions of classical paintings and engravings at wholesale prices to interior decorators specializing in the deco for new and remodeled hotels and offices. The company, Glamor ltd., was later registered in Switzerland as “de Hadeln & Cie” and continues to market a large collection of classic etchings, engravings, paintings and sculptures. Housed in a rustic, wooden frame, this etching has ambered over time and is signed by the artist in the lower right hand corner of the print.

This original painting on canvas by Houston-based artist Danny Gillies depicts a cosmic landscape, with spaceships and alien structures landing and departing from the dusty surface of an unknown moon. Painting with what he deemed, “Hyperspective”, Gillies paintings are contemporary, yet present electrifying vibes that perfectly embody the rock n’ roll attitude of the 1970s and 1980s. This painting is housed in a simple wood framing and has been signed and dated to 1979 by the artist in the lower left hand corner of the canvas.
