Original mixed media art by Ohio-based artist Mary Merrill (1920-1992) titled, “The Ohio Dancers” depicts dancing figures in red and black, single file across a white background. An outsider artist who began making work later in life due to struggling with agoraphobia, Merrill used anything she had at hand to work with, including "chewing gum, make up, jewelry, and coal nuggets.", according to art historians. An original oil painting by late Ohio native artist, Pascal Cucaro(1915–2004). Born in Youngstown, Ohio, Cucaro would find influence in his childhood, which would help develop his vision for his landscapes, and subjects of circus scenes, of which he became well known. Touted as an impasto style painter with impressionist influence, Cucaro preferred to be undefined as painting was an evolution. This original oil painting exemplifies Cucaro's evolution, with elements of fauvism, impressionism, and impasto technique. In 1965, Cucaro was awarded a nomination for The Presidential Medal of Freedom. His work continues to inspire in private collections after his death. Babblement is an original watercolor by Columbus, Ohio artist David Schackne. Busy in both color and composition, this landscape features tones of green, blue, red, orange, and yellow with strikes of black throughout. Signed on bottom and titled on reverse.  About the Artist: David Schackne (1923-2004) was an architect who designed many of Columbus's public high schools. As a teenager he studied at Columbus Art School (now CCAD) and would graduate from Ohio State University with a degree in architecture.
