This original oil on canvas by American artist Bob Tapia depicts a dramatic seascape with seagulls coasting over a rocky beach as waves crash against a stormy shore. An artist with a true love for the sea, Tapia and his wife, Rosemary, are well known in the Bay Area art scene as the owners of the former Tapia Gallery in Sausalito, California, where they regularly distributed Tapia’s masterful seascapes and maritime paintings. This original painting is housed in an antiqued gold and wood frame and is signed by the artist in the lower right hand corner of the canvas.

Original oil on canvas painting by renowned Ohio artist Jeanne Isenhart (1920-2005) depicts a farmland scene on the day of a local auction. Bidders can be seen in the lower foreground while a sprawling countryside fills the background of the piece. Covered bridges, mills, and an old, weathered barn populate the greenery of the scene under blue skies. Framed in rustic chestnut and signed in the lower right by the artist.
About the Artist:
Jeanne Isenhart (1920-2005) was born in Gloversville, New York and studied at the Rhode Island School of Art and Design before serving in the Navy during World War II. Isenhart spent a large portion of her adult career as an interior designer before turning to painting at the age of 60. Described as creating “refined primitive” oil paintings, she created over 600 works of art. Collections of her work include that of the Ohio State House and the Ohio Governor’s Mansion. Isenhart exhibited her work largely in the Midwest and in New York City. She died at 85 in 2005 at the age of 85 in Newark, Ohio.

About the Artist:
Juris Kakis is a Lativian born contemporary artist. He immigrated to the United States with his painter mother and medical doctor father at age 11. His first year in America, he received an award for his art in his new home of New York City. He attempted to continue the generational legacy of doctors that the men in his family had perpetuated, but ended up pursuing his Masters of Fine Arts instead. He went on to teach painting and drawing at Ohio Dominican University for 37 years before retiring as a professor with tenure.

Original oil on canvas by noted 19th century Spanish painter Blas Olleros y Quintana (1851-1919) depicts a harbor scene. Six female figures drift in a boat ornamented with verdure and paper lanterns while other boaters wave in the distance; a perfect example of Olleros' appeal towards scenes of leisure and celebration. Housed in an ornate gold frame and crowned with a museum light, this opulent painting is signed by Olleros in the lower right corner of the painting.
About the Artist:
Blas Olleros y Quintana was born in 1851 in Avila, Spain. By 1874, the Avila City Council awarded Olleros a grant to further his art education in Rome. After completing his studies in Rome, Olleros relocated to Paris for three years, becoming acquainted with the Spanish portrait painter Palmaroli, who became a great influence on his work. For much of the 1880’s Olleros resided in Naples, Italy, where he became known as “Il Improvvisatore” or, “The Improviser”. He adopted Italy as his new homeland and remained there for most of his adult life. His subject matter was varied and included landscapes, seascapes, figures, genre and historical scenes. A great deal of his work focused on Neapolitan scenery, especially harbor scenes. He later resided in Florence and died there in 1919.
