About the Artist:
David Najar (1962-) is a contemporary artist based in Israel. Discouraged from pursuing art by his family, Najar got his bachelor’s degree in social sciences, leading him to an exercise facility where he would take interest in Krav Maga. Soon after, he would foster a relationship with the creator of Krav Maga and become an instructor under his mentorship. In his 30s, he observed a Renoir painting that stirred the artistic inclinations of his youth, spurring an enrollment in art classes. After classes, he would seek the mentorship of the renowned artist Itzchak Tarkay, who he would paint alongside from 2003 until Tarkay’s death in 2012. Self described as a Contemporary Expressionist, Najar uses emotional color and imaginative abstraction. Najar’s painting studio is located in Israel.
