Original oil painting on panel by Ohio-based artist Ed Shuttleworth depicts a country road winding into a distance of trees and verdure, barns perched along its pathways. Painted in mildly washy tones with a more neutral, blue palette, Shuttleworth derives inspiration from the landscapes of Hocking Hills, Ohio to create a piece filled with expressive brushstrokes and painterly sensibilities. This beautiful piece of art is housed in a silver frame and signed and dated by the artist in the lower right hand corner of the painting.

Unique framed artwork features two paintings back to back in the manner of early 20th century Belarusian painter Chaim Soutine. Soutine’s work and popularity exploded after World War II and was subject to frequent forgeries and copies, this double faced painting being an example as indicated by the misspelled “Souitine” signature. On one side of the framed canvas, this forger has depicted a watchtower utilizing technique reminiscent of Soutine’s lively brushstrokes. The opposite piece on the back depicts a Fauvist landscape of a pathway leading through a clearing of trees. These pieces are reversible and framed in a distressed gold.
