This miniature take on a traditional rawap or rubab features seven strings over a wooden framing and has been masterfully decorated throughout with snake skin and inlaid details for a gorgeous piece of cultural or musical décor. Dating back to ancient Iran, a standard rawap would typically measure in at around 70-centimeters in length and is particularly used in Tajik folk music by residents of the Uyghur autonomous region of Xinjiang, Western China. This small rawap offers a truly gorgeous and unique find for the musical connoisseur and is best suited for display purposes only.
