PAULINE MARTINEZ (1950-) San Ildefonso Pueblo Pottery Vase

SOLD

This vase by San Ildefonso Pueblo potter Pauline Martinez (1950-) features a shapely vessel with a small mouth that’s perfect to accommodate a small array of floral decorations. The daughter of noted potter Cresencia Tafoya (1918-1999), Martinez typically used the techniques of her mother before marrying into the Martinez family, later taking up the San Ildefonso technique to make her pots. Glazed in black on black with subtle geometric detailing, this vase is etched with Martinez’ signature on the underside of the vessel.

This vase is amongst hundreds of pieces of décor that are available at our location in Grandview! Come in today and see the full collection.
