This original oil on canvas painting by French-born painter Josette Faquet (1940-) circa 1960s depicts a pair of children dressed as harlequin jester clowns. Faquet often uses the subject of children in her work, with this particular piece exhibiting loose, washy strokes of paint that just barely elevate the image past a more raw underpainting. Framed in a lithe wood frame with gold accents, this original painting is prominently signed by the artist in the lower right hand corner of the canvas.
