This original oil on board painting by painter Randolph Brooks depicts a small still life arrangement of mushrooms neatly arranged upon a table. A master of the still life motif, Brooks’ paintings often deal with commonplace food items arranged with dramatic lighting and high rendering, creating soft, intimate pictures that neatly allude to one another. This original painting is matted and framed in ornate gold and is signed and dated to 1969 by the artist along the bottom left hand corner of the board.
