Cast in bronze, this sculpture by New York artist Jonathan Scott Hartley (1845-1912) depicts a seated woman, well-dressed and removing her shaw or overcoat. Hartley’s career began with studies at the Royal Academy in London before pursuing further work in major art hubs such as Berlin and Paris. Gorgeously patinated, this sculpture is signed and dated to 1907 in the casting by the listed artist.
