Born in Marietta, Ohio, Gatrell is an alumni of The Ohio State University, where he found an education in art and later would serve on the faculty. Known for his portraits, he was widely exhibited throughout Ohio. An informational card is attached on the reverse.

About the Artist:
Kanayo Ede grew up in southeastern Nigeria. The son of a textile dealer, Ede grew up surrounded by the magic of color and texture. He earned his BFA at the University of Maiduguri, going on to teach as an art instructor for human drawing and landscape painting. He then worked as a designer and illustrator before moving to the United States to paint full time. He now has a studio in Atlanta, Georgia.

JAMES YOKO (1916-2004) “Figure and Words” Original Mixed Media on Canvas
Dated vintage, this original mixed media on canvas by Ohio regionalist artist James Yoko (1916-2004) depicts a solitary female figure in an interior setting, collections of torn paper collage lingering in the background. A central figure within the Dayton, Ohio art scene, Yoko was a prolific artist throughout his lifetime and gifted over 700 paintings to the Dayton Art Institute upon his death in 2012, making his paintings now highly prized for their rarity. This painting is mounted on original stretcher bars and has been signed and dated to 1994 by the artist on the backside of the canvas.

Born the son of a Finnish sculptor, Fazzino utilizes layers of silkscreen serigraphs, all meticulously hand cut, to add dramatic depth and dimensionality to his pop culture-driven pieces. This unique process has led to Fazzino designing and creating artwork for events such as The Grammy Awards, The Super Bowl, and the Daytime Emmy Awards. This unique artwork by Fazzino is matted and framed in polished silver and is signed and numbered 165/200 by the artist along the bottom of the piece.
